Easter Bunny

pinup girl clothing kristina dress

Happy Easter! I don't post a lot on weekends anymore, but this outfit was just too perfect for the holiday! Corduroy doesn't exactly scream "spring," but I'd been looking for this older Pinup Girl Clothing dress forever (three cheers for eBay!), and it pairs so well with my delicious accessories: this amazing chocolate shop bag from Vendula London and my chocolate-scented(!) Easter Bunny brooch by Kate Gabrielle!

I'm always a sucker for novelty accessories (especially ones that are food-themed), so when I received this incredible chocolatier purse from Vendula London unique bags, I jumped for joy. The attention to detail is absolutely exquisite (even the back is adorable!), and I can't think of a better bag for someone with such a highly-developed sweet tooth like mine. It's incredibly roomy, which makes it a surprisingly practical choice, and it also comes with a long, cross-body strap (which I chose not to use here). It's a truly special handbag, and it's one that I will treasure for a long time.

I nearly lost my candy-loving mind when I saw that Kate was making these resin bunny brooches. Talk about attention to detail – not only does the brown resin look exactly like chocolate, but Kate was also clever enough to make them scented (they smell just like those scented Valentines), and the brooch even comes with a cheeky "DO NOT EAT" warning sticker on the back! I think it tops off this outfit in the cutest yet subtlest way.

Although I'm Jewish, Easter is always a really fun holiday for me. I still get an Easter basket (thanks, Mama Bunny!), and my mom usually makes a nice family dinner. I think we're having my favorite sweet treat for breakfast, too – orange rolls! And as long as I see some Reese's eggs in my basket, I'll be a very happy girl. What are some of your favorite Easter treats?

Friday Favorites #127

I took an unintended break from Friday Favorites last week, but I'm back this week with lots of lust-worthy stuff! Here's what I've been loving lately...

I'm totally tickled by these new Betsey Johnson bags – especially the avocado wristlet! (The taco one is a direct rip-off of a Charlotte Olympia bag, but since I could never afford a $1,000+ clutch, I'm sort of okay with it.) The ferris wheel bag is amazing, too!

I love the whole Irregular Choice x Alice in Wonderland line... but since I'm convinced my cat looks exactly like Dinah, these flats are toward the top of my wish list.

Lambie

lamb shirt

Is there anything cuter than a little baby lamb?? Ever since I was little, I've loved these little wooly, gambling creatures. I even had a stuffed lamb that I carried everywhere (aptly named Lambie), and I don't think I've ever fully gotten over losing her. My mom loves lambs too (and so did my grandma), so I guess I must associate them with comfort and family – and springtime! Since spring is finally here, and Easter is this Sunday, I thought it'd be the ideal time to style this adorable lamb tee from Miss Ladybug.

I featured one of Miss Ladybug's cute cardigans on the blog last month (see that post here), but I'm also a big fan of their graphic tees. I love the combination of this sweet graphic with the lovely pale yellow color of this top! There are so many fun designs to choose from on the Miss Ladybug site, and they're all super-soft and comfy. I didn't used to wear a lot of t-shirts, but now that I've gotten more into wearing separates, I love pairing more casual tops like this with skirts; it's still a fairly casual look, but I feel really put-together and could pretty much wear this outfit anywhere. This tee provides quite a bit of stretch – I originally thought I'd need to size up to an XL after looking at the size chart, but I'm wearing a size large here and it has more than enough breathing room – so I'd suggest ordering your normal size if you're in doubt.

Eat your veggies

vegetable dress

I took these photos this past fall, but for some reason, I never got around to posting them (whoops!). Since yesterday was the first day of spring, I thought it was finally time to share them. This vegetarian print dress just seems so springy to me – I might even wear it on Easter! – and you all know that I can't turn down such an amazing novelty print. You can find this dress (along with other incredibly cute creations) at Sophster Toaster!

I hadn't initially planned on posting these photos today, but I came down with the flu last week (right after getting over a cold, too!), and it really kicked my butt. I finally started feeling quasi-normal on Saturday, but it definitely put me a little behind schedule for this week. Hopefully I won't get sick again for a long while – especially since I start rehearsals for Heathers this week! I'm super excited to jump in and get started. I think this spring is going to be fun!

Dear little shamrock

tatyana fan skirt

I guess it should be no surprise that I am a lover of holidays, as they usually encompass two things I love: dressing up and eating delicious food. However, St. Patrick's Day isn't one I tend to go all-out for – since I'm not at all Irish and I don't drink, it doesn't do a whole lot for me. But it does give me an excuse to wear green, so I seized the opportunity to wear this Tatyana skirt (another lucky eBay score!)... even though the fans are a bit more reminiscent of Spain than Ireland.

You might've noticed my growing love for separates as of late. I still love my dresses, but I'm enjoying all the mixing and matching I can do now with my tops and skirts. I especially adore this Jailbird Top from Pinup Girl Clothing – the sleeve length keeps its sexiness from going over-the-top, and I always feel really awesome in it. I'll be a little sad when the weather gets too warm for me to wear it!

A total Bettie

polka dot cardigan

Anyone who grew up watching Clueless knows that calling someone "a Betty" is very high praise indeed. But since I draw a lot of inspiration (including my bangs) from a certain icon who spelled her name with an "-ie," I think I might rather be called "a Bettie" instead. I'd like to think this adorable Bettie Page brooch from Baccurelli looks a little like me (even though I don't resemble the real Bettie very much), and after receiving it as a Christmas gift from my mom, I'm glad I finally got a chance to wear it!

I think it's probably safe to say that winter is over (fingers crossed!), but it's still a bit too chilly most days to go without a jacket – or, at the very least, a cute cardigan! I found this one on sale at Dangerfield and love so much about it. (It's no longer available, but they have tons of other cute cardis.) Since I'm so into separates lately, I decided to turn my black Jenny dress from Pinup Girl Clothing into a skirt by adding a wide belt, which hides any extra fabric from the sweater. Neither of these pieces is ultra-flashy, but that's why they've become versatile staples in my wardrobe. I'll always have a large space dedicated to statement pieces, but it feels nice to dress a bit more simply sometimes!
