Anyone who grew up watching
Clueless knows that calling someone "a Betty" is very high praise indeed. But since I draw a lot of inspiration (including my bangs) from a certain icon who spelled her name with an "-ie," I think I might rather be called "a Bettie" instead. I'd like to think this adorable Bettie Page brooch from
Baccurelli looks a little like me (even though I don't resemble the real Bettie very much), and after receiving it as a Christmas gift from my mom, I'm glad I finally got a chance to wear it!
I think it's probably safe to say that winter is over (fingers crossed!), but it's still a bit too chilly most days to go without a jacket – or, at the very least, a cute cardigan! I found this one on sale at Dangerfield and love so much about it. (It's no longer available, but they have tons of
other cute cardis.) Since I'm so into separates lately, I decided to turn my black Jenny dress from
Pinup Girl Clothing into a skirt by adding a wide belt, which hides any extra fabric from the sweater. Neither of these pieces is ultra-flashy, but that's why they've become versatile staples in my wardrobe. I'll always have a large space dedicated to statement pieces, but it feels nice to dress a bit more simply sometimes!

So cute! I love the detailing of the sweater, and the brooch is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour pin does look like you, bangs and all! Sometimes I wish I had the courage to get bettie bangs, but I'm far too lazy to maintain them. They look wonderful on you!

This outfit is too cute! And the brooch! It's perfection!
ReplyDeleteYou're the third person I know to buy these flats off Amazon. The other two gals I know talk about how incredibly comfy they are. And I keep meaning to buy a pair, but then Re-Mix and Miss L Fire shoes keep cropping up!
