I know it's been a while since I updated my blog – and there have been a lot of changes in the world since I last posted. Most of us have had to make major adjustments in our lives due to the spread of COVID-19. In addition to the health threat posed by the virus itself (which is scary enough), many people have lost their jobs or their businesses may be hanging in the balance. We have to separate ourselves from our loved ones, put off vacations, and be careful about every move we make. Simply put, there's a lot that's uncertain right now. 

But there's one thing I do know: that kindness isn't canceled. Although I'm very anxious about the state of the world and feel overwhelmed with all of these new changes, I'm simultaneously inspired by those I love and by perfect strangers. While this pandemic has certainly brought out some of the worst in people, it's also highlighted some of the best of humanity.

4th Blogiversary Giveaway: Valentine's Edition! [CLOSED]

It's pretty astounding, but in a couple of days, I'll have been blogging for four whole years! Time has flown by, and yet so much has happened since I first began. When I started, I had recently moved back to Rochester and wasn't sure what I wanted to ultimately be doing – so I filled my free time with clothes, slowly figuring out my personal style and my voice along the way. I was still living at home, was doing as many shows as I could, still thinking I'd move back to New York at some point. Now, I'm working full-time as a writer, doing shows only when I feel like it, and living in my own place here that I love. In short, my life now looks totally different from what I pictured for myself four years ago. But I really am glad things in my personal and professional life have turned out the way they have.

I know Sundays can sometimes be a downer since they signal the end of a weekend, but I have something to up your spirits today: a giveaway! GIVEAWAY: a personalized necklace from Onecklace! [CLOSED]

Hi, everyone!  Some of you may remember this post, in which I gave a glowing review of my personalized name necklace, courtesy of Onecklace.  I wear my "Sammi" necklace all the time; the quality is top-notch, and the style is perfect for my retro-inspired ensembles.  Plus, I can never find my name on pre-made name necklaces, which makes me love my customized piece even more!  Onecklace has a great website of their own, but they've also just opened up their own Etsy store!  I'm obviously a huge fan of Etsy, and I think it's a great platform to promote their high-quality jewelry.  The kind people at Onecklace actually contacted me about picking another item for review, but I opted instead to work with them in another way: a giveaway for my lovely readers!  Hooray!
