Getaway

heart of haute getaway skirt

I'm all about the patterned skirts lately! I'd been wanting this adorable skirt by Heart of Haute since Christmas, and I'm glad I was finally able to get my hands on it (thanks to a recent sale at Doll Me Up). Although I love a full skirt, I have to admit that I get more wear out of more casual, versatile pieces like this one. It's definitely a piece I can wear during 3 out of 4 seasons, and although I went with basic white for this time around, because of all the different colors in this harlequin print, I can mix and match with ease.

I'm mostly moved in to my new place, but there's still so much to do and not very much time to do it. I'm exhausted most days after work; even though it's not physical at all, I find it very draining. It's proving to be a big adjustment. I don't know why I didn't try to ease into all this change a bit more, rather than having everything happen at once... but sometimes life just happens that way. I'm simply trying to rise to the challenge (and keep my head above water). My backlog of photos is dwindling, so my next task is fitting in my blogging with my new schedule – which admittedly will probably be more fun than some of the other things I've had to check off my list lately.

  1. You'll get used to the 9-5 schedule soon - it CAN be tiresome! I am exhausted by the time I have dinner ready and then dishes cleaned up and it's barely 8pm! Haha!

As far as blogging - I do all my blogging on the weekend. It took practice but I've gotten it down to where I have my posts scheduled out and know what I want to post in the next two weeks or so (depending on what's coming in the mail, etc.) and then on weekends, I try to bang out 1 or 2 posts' worth of photos. Then, if I can't edit the photos right then or write the posts right then, I try to finish them up after work here and there when I can. It can be a challenge but as you said, you'll adjust to the new lifestyle! Gotta give yourself some time =)

  2. You use up more energy using your brain, thinking, than you do for manual labor, interestingly (according to my diabetes educator, anyway), so that might account for being so tired when you are getting home. New schedules also just require an adjustment. But, it sounds as though the changes are going well, even if tiring. You are a rockstar!

I'm sure you'll figure out a rhythm for fitting blogging in. You look darling btw!

  3. Delightful skirt. I really like the super subtle nautical vibe that a harlequin print in the marriage of colours telegraphs.

Sending tons of energizing hugs your way,
    ♥ Jessica
