I may be more inclined towards kookier prints, but goodness, I do love a good tartan. Although I'm a bit of an ethnic mutt (in case you've ever wondered, I'm Polish, German, Swedish, Welsh, French, and possibly Scottish), I've always felt a connection to the Celtic nations and the UK. At least I can sort of pretend I'm from somewhere else in this skirt! I'd been wanting this colorway from
British Retro for about a year, and I finally took the plunge. I originally wanted the
dress, but since I've been embracing the idea of separates as of late, I went for the skirt instead. It's a bit longer than I'd like (I can't imagine how long it'd be on someone shorter than I), but I could always get it hemmed at a later date. Otherwise, it's a really high-quality piece that makes for a great addition to my fall and winter wardrobe. The skirt doesn't seem to be currently available, but there are
other colorways too.
I have one more week of relative free time, and then things are going to get very busy again. I'm doing this lovely little play in mid-January (it goes up with just one week of rehearsals, which will be a fun challenge), and then I'll be going right into rehearsals for a children's theatre show. Although I sometimes complain, I find that I'm better off when I'm busy. When left to my own devices, I'm not anywhere near as productive. I guess hitting the ground running is a good way to start off the new year!

SUPER cute skirt - I have a dress by British Retro and love it. They make good stuff!! This outfit rocks on you, by the way. So super flattering! Very cozy!
ReplyDeleteI discovered this brand a few months ago and have been eyeing their pencil dresses. I keep hoping for a sale or a discount to appear! Great length on you, and what a gorgeous colour. Xx
ReplyDeleteLoving the colour way Sammi! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new play! It sounds great!!x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely ensemble. I adore (!) tartan (and plaid), too. For me it's a love that stretches back to a wee little red tartan cross body (Coach saddle style) purse I had circa age 5 - 6. :)
