Swimming with the fishes

Outfit Details:
What A Catch Bra Top and Skirt: Bettie Page
Necklace: Forever 21
Octopus ring: ModCloth (free with purchase)

This outfit has been waiting in my closet since the winter to be worn.  It still isn't really warm enough to wear it yet, but I want real summer so badly that I couldn't wait any longer!

I'd never have purchased this ring myself, but for a free gift, I'll take it!  It goes well with nautical things, so I can't really complain (except octopi kind of freak me out just a little bit, honestly).

I daringly tried to set the timer and get pictures in my creek, but it was a huge failure.  I hurt my ankle a little and almost lost my flip flop, and I got zero usable pictures, so that was a bust.  I need to recruit a photographer for something like that, and find a better spot that isn't so rocky and that doesn't have a strong current (the spot was further down the creek than this picture shows).

Hope your Monday goes swimmingly!

ah yes the good old timer...run and 'pose' really is the story of my life and sometimes 10 seconds just isn't enough...I have too scraped my knees, laddered tights, fallen off my bike...all in the name of getting that perfect shot!!? what are we like? hee hee. Never the less my dear you still got some amazing shots and this dress is amazing!!! I really think you have the best web surfing dress finding skills!!! this dress is insanely cool! Ouuuu great news! I wanted your 'toast to julie dress' but the tax import fees etc to get it over here is just too expensive but I managed to find the exact same fabric (but in white!!!) so I'm gonna make a dress from scratch! eeee! dress twins xxxx

  10. Your themed outfits are always so much fun. :) You're like an adorable indie Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus. (I always wanted to grow up to be her!)

  12. Ooh, sorry to hear about your photo-taking mishap! That happens to me ALL the time. I decide that one place would be super pretty but the photos end up turning out bad or I get eaten by mosquitoes or something haha.

But your outfit is lovely in this woodsy setting anyway! Love the bright, contrasting colors of the skirt and top. It's so darling how everything goes with that nautical theme--the anchor necklace and octopus ring are just adorable!
