How fun is this purse?!  ALDO has serious game in the novelty purse department, and most importantly, their purses are way less expensive than some other well-known options (like Betsey Johnson or Kate Spade).  I now have a few different novelty bags from ALDO (see how I styled one for Valentine's Day here), but the one I'm *really* searching for can be found only in ALDO Accessories stores... and the closest one to me is in Albany!  It's a mint green rotary dial phone clutch, and if anyone who reads this happens to find one, please let me know!!  I need it for my collection!

When I received this purse in the mail, I knew I kind of wanted to pair it with this camera print dress from ModCloth.  Just as I'm a sucker for novelty purses, I can never say no to a novelty print, and this dress had been on my wish list for quite some time.  Unfortunately, I'm not nearly as thrilled with it in person.  The print is lovely, and the quality is fairly good, but sadly, the fit is really underwhelming on me.  I had to add a belt to create some waist definition, but the top of the dress (especially in the bust/underarm area) has a really wonky fit to it on me.  The only way I can really see it working is to layer a red sweater over it in the fall (and let the cute collar peek out) to remix it, but I wish it worked better on its own!  I have a feeling it would work better on someone who is a little less-endowed in that area.  I'm thinking that I will probably end up putting it up in my shop my closet store; as wonderful as the print is, I'm not sure I can justify keeping it.

  1. That bag and dress match perfectly! How cute. I love it with the hat and shoes too, I am always on the lookout for a hat like that but haven't found the perfect one yet.

  2. Aw, that's such a shame it doesn't fit. I've head that about modcloth dresses, that they are generally for girls with smaller boobs. Maybe you could alter it or make it into something else? It is a really cute print though, and I love the picture of you using the bag like a camera.

  9. I would have never thought about Aldo for a novelty bag, I'll have to check that out. They have a sale shop near my house, and it would be great to find a cute, smaller bag like that for the summer.

  11. Omg that bag is sooo adorable :D

Awww too bad about that dress.. It's too cute. I hate when that happens. I ordered a Modcloth dress that was super huge in the bust for me. That's just weird!

  12. I hate it when a dress doesn't really work on my frame. The print is super cute! But I think ultimately the fit is what makes you wear it again. I think that dress would last about .2 seconds in your store. Oh, and I LOVE the bag!

  15. I love this dress! As a photographer I feel like its a crime that I don't own any camera themed things. It's unfortunate about the fit, but it still looks really cute and would be lovely remixed, I'm sure! I also love that bag..too perfect!
