Hello, Little Girl

Outfit Details:
Favorite Fairy Teal Dress: ModCloth
For the Winnipeg Coat: ModCloth
Spectator pumps: BAIT Footwear
Red belt: Pinup Girl Clothing
Necklace: ASOS (old)
Hair bow: Loretta Jo's
Petticoat: eBay

Ahh, this dress.  I had lusted after this find from Collectif for the longest time, and it sold out on ModCloth for quite a while.  I had just about given up hope of it being restocked, and had almost purchased one directly from Collectif's warehouse (which surely would have been too big on me, since Collectif's dresses always run large -- I wear a small in this dress, for goodness sakes!), but it magically came back in stock at ModCloth in the nick of time!  My mama purchased this for me as a gift, and both the cut and fabric make it unbelievably darling.  I thought it'd work pretty well with my red coat from Hell Bunny, which is both retro and precious in its own right.  I meant to get a photo with the (red riding) hood up, but I forgot!  I also forgot to bring out one of my basket purses! Oops.

Maybe I should just go ahead and do a series of posts based off of fairytale characters.  It was totally unintentional to follow up my silly Tooth Fairy post with this Little Red Riding Hood-inspired one, but since I already own so many things that could work for a category like this, maybe it'd be something to think about.  Any thoughts?

Have a beautiful Saturday!

Friday Favorites #41

Just when it seemed like spring was nearly upon us, we got hit with a huuuge blizzard this week... which makes me more desperate for warmer weather (and all of the pastels)!  Here are some of this week's favorite spring finds:

a // b // c // d // e // f // g // h // i // j // k

A  //  B

That lilac dress reminds me of a mermaid, and these flats do too!
These yellow dresses are so perfectly cheery (the first and third ones have daisy details on them)!
one // two // three

These punny snack boxes are so sweet!
Even sweeter is this rabbit-themed top and skirt set from Vintage Style Me!
And these graphic skirts are pretty fantastic:

Adorable office supplies alert... kitty highlighters and erasers that make your pencil turn into a magic wand!  Since I am a self-proclaimed cat lady who is currently playing a fairy... these are both ideal.
1 // 2

A retro-inspired dress that encompasses both pastels and cats?!  TAKE MY MONEY.
Speaking of retro, I need this iPhone dock in my life:

I also love these two music-themed, black-and-white beauties:
1 // 2

This cardigan is the best mix of pastel kawaii and retro kitsch.  It's also THE perfect length for so many dresses I have AND IT HAS RUFFLES.  What more could I ask for in a sweater?!
And finally, what may be the best find of the week... which always seems to be Breaking Bad-related (but really, is anyone surprised?)... a genius individual made these stellar remixes:

Seasons 3-5

Have a fabulous Friday!

The Tooth Fairy

Outfit Details:
Hypatia Dress: ever+mi.crush
Lavender sweater: Forever 21 (similar here)
Cat eye glasses: ModCloth (similar here)
White Mary Janes: estate sale store
Bracelet: American Eagle (old)

This is a short, silly post!  I was trying to figure out another way to wear this dress (designed by the lovely Kate Gabrielle), and I found this pretty sweater from last year in a box of older clothes, and decided to try remixing the dress.  For some reason, this outfit makes me think of a modern day costume for The Tooth Fairy!  Maybe it's because I have fairies on the brain lately (I'm playing the Blue Fairy in a production of Disney's My Son Pinocchio here), or maybe because I have the spirit of a costumer, but I think the soft pastels and kooky glasses are perfect -- plus, the collar kind of looks like a row of teeth!  The pearly white shoes and bracelet were also a nice touch, I thought.  I don't know if the bulky sweater over a dress combination is very flattering on me, but it's definitely a practical choice!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Painting of a painting

Outfit Details:
Scenic painting skirt: ROMWE
Pink cardigan: ModCloth (similar here and here)
Lady in Rad Boots in Ink: ModCloth
Black cami & slouchy hat: Target
Necklace: Forever 21 (old)

Sometimes I like how an outfit looks much better in person than in outfit photos... and this is definitely one of those times.  I love this cropped pink cardigan, but cuts me off in a strange way in these.  Seeing these photos actually jump started me on a healthy eating kick.  I'm sick of this post-breakup winter weight, and now that spring is on its way, I want to start feeling better about myself again.  It's so tempting for me to take naps when it's cold out and take comfort in junk food, but it's absolutely not worth me feeling down on myself.  I've been feeling so much better over the past few days, since I pretty much cut out my soda intake and made a much bigger effort to eat healthily.  Plus, the days are even longer now, and those little things really make such a big difference for me.

I really love ROMWE's graphic skirts like this, but they're soo short on me.  I don't usually think of myself as a particularly tall person, but I am 5'7", and apparently that's just too tall for these.  I actually ordered this Christmas cat-themed one, but when it came, it was so short that it's never going to be wearable.  I forgot to send it back, so now it's just sitting in my room.  Any petite, cat-loving ladies who might want it, holler at me!  I want to re-open my shop my closet store at some point soon, so maybe it'll go in there if no one is interested.  Damn these long gams!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Popcorn and ice cream

Outfit Details:
Rose Dress in Delicious Sundae Print: Bernie Dexter
Dream of the Crop Cardigan in Red: ModCloth
Vintage milkshake brooch: Good Goody Girls Jewels
Red Mary Janes: Urban Outfitters (old)
Popcorn purse: Sweetbox Store
Red coat: eBay

I may have been a *little* overly zealous for the end of winter when I took these photos.  I am just so, so sick of wearing boots and bundling up that I decided to don a summery dress and Mary Janes and cold be damned, I was going to take photos without ruining the effect via clunky boots!  Of course, I immediately regretted my decision when I got snow in my shoes.  I can't wait to wear this outfit when it's actually weather-appropriate and I don't risk getting frostbite.

I wore this dress for our first day in Disney World, when we went to the 1950s-themed restaurant at the Beach Club resort and dinner at the Boardwalk.  I am nothing if not thematic.  I received more compliments on this dress than I could ever imagine.  I'd planned on packing a petticoat (I think this dress looks better with a little fluff underneath), but that wasn't in the cards, and for some reason, the one I use most makes this dress look WAY too voluminous.  I need one that has less layers!  I'd been crushing on different versions of this amazing printed dress from Bernie Dexter for forever, and I finally took the plunge when it was on sale a while ago.  I'm so glad I did, because every dress I've ever purchased from her has been incredibly flattering and dreamy.  I always have about 3 different dresses of hers at a time on my wish list!  They're definitely more summery frocks, but that just makes me all the more excited for warm weather.  Spring, please hurry up!

Have a beautiful Saturday!
