Tickled pink

Outfit Details:
Vintage pink dress: Great Lake Outfitters
Vintage pink petticoat: from my voice teacher
Skinny white belt: ASOS (on sale!)
Boater hat: River Island
Care To Dance? Wedge in Petal: ModCloth (also available directly from BAIT)
Ring: Urban Outfitters

I took these photos on a whim last weekend, in an effort to get more wear out of the pieces I already have.  I wore this adorable vintage dress on my blog once before (albeit briefly), and at the time, I was convinced that this dress would need some serious hemming before I attempted to wear it again.  But now I'm wondering if it might be a little bit criminal to do that to this dress, and besides which, I think it actually looks pretty cute with the little petticoat sticking out underneath!

I've progressively been getting more and more into pink as of late.  This exact shade of pink (a pinkish hue...?  Seinfeld, anyone?) was my favorite color when I was little, and I really enjoy the fact that it's making its way back into my wardrobe choices as an adult (or quasi-adult).

I think we may drive to Syracuse to go to the New York State Fair today (if the weather's nice).  I've only been there once -- and I was too young to remember anything -- and since it's only $10 (and I have the perfect amusement park dress to wear), we might as well go.  It'll be a source of entertainment (intentional or not), at the very least!

Hope you have a sunny Saturday!

In France They Kiss On Main Street

Outfit Details:
Veronique Dress in High Street: Bernie Dexter (also available at ModCloth)
Bicycle ring: Ever Ours
Black flats: jcpenney
Basket purse: Mom's

Oh, how I love Bernie Dexter and her wonderful dresses!  She always has the most darling prints and flattering silhouettes, and this dress is obviously no exception.  I'd been eyeing this one for quite some time, and a recent 15% off discount code finally convinced me to take the plunge.  This print reminds me of another Bernie Dexter dress I have (see how I wore that one here), but I love this one even more!  This frock makes me wish I had a black beret (or that I could pull one off -- I have hat insecurities).

Young love was kissing under bridges
Kissing in cars, kissing in cafés
And we were walking down Main Street
Kissing like bright flags hung on holidays
"In France, they kiss on Main Street"
"Amour, mama, not cheap display"
And we were rolling, rolling, rock 'n rolling

Have a beautiful Thursday!

Mad about plaid

Outfit Details:
Prairie Extraordinary Dress: ModCloth (no longer available)
Kimchi Blue T-Strap Flats: Urban Outfitters
Heart necklace: ASOS (sold out)
Daisy ring: Mom's

I wore this dress on my blog back in April, before I started taking photos outside.  I wear this dress pretty often, because I'm so in love with this vibrant plaid and the design of it.  I'm basically wearing this dress the same way as I wore it last time (though I changed up the shoes and added a ring), but this one is a little difficult to remix -- at least for me!  If it were cool enough outside, I'd have worn it with a cardigan, but Saturday was just too warm and lovely for that!  I wore this to the Public Market and out to dinner.  It was a truly beautiful day.  I want to savor summer for as long as it will stick around.

Sadly, this beautiful dress is no longer available on the ModCloth website (and the brand, Blutsgeschwister, is based in Germany and does not ship outside the country), but ModCloth carries several other pieces by them -- all of which have charming, German-inspired details.  And speaking of ModCloth... did you know that yesterday marked the start of their Last Hurrah Sale, which features some incredible pieces, all 70% off!??  I couldn't resist snagging two dresses I've been lusting after for quite a while now.  My bank account is very angry with me.  Shopping ban reinstated.

Have a great Tuesday!
