Mama Day

Steven and I were able to snap some photos on this beautiful Mother's Day afternoon.  This river and park are close to the nearest train station.  We were hoping to see some goslings (they're our favorite), but we only saw one lone goose!  The scenery is so pretty here, though.

Outfit Details:
Together and Apartment Dress: ModCloth
White cardigan: dELiA*s
Charm bracelet: Urban Outfitters
Sandals: DSW (old)

Although I had a very nice time with Steven's family, I was still a little sad that I couldn't spend Mother's Day with my mom.  However, she and I were featured in a Mother's Day article in the paper here (and our picture was on the front page - eek!), so that was kind of special, even from afar... though I think I'm much better with posed photos than I am with candids (or quasi-candids)...

Hope your Mother's Day was lovely, and hope your today is too!

Kitty in the window

Everything is so delightfully green and lush these days.  It had been raining this day, but stopped long enough for me to head outside and enjoy the greenery.

Outfit Details:
T-shirt: Forever 21 (old)
Skirt: H&M (old)
Belt: from another dress
Flats: ASOS

This outfit was worn probably twice in college (when I was heavier), and I never really liked it much... but now I like it a lot more!  It's light and springy.

Good old girl.

I turned the corner and heard a pitiful mew... and I looked up and saw Pumpkin in the window!  She must have been wondering why I was outside without her.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Green apple

It rained for the first time this month last week (when I took these photos), so I'm inside once again for these.  At least the exposure isn't as blown out now!  And I'm wearing my new dress from eShakti

Outfit Details:
Gingham Check Dress: eShakti
White belt: ASOS
Core Values Necklace: ModCloth
White flats: Yeswalker

eShakti is a really cool company, because they offer a lot of customization for their shoppers.  They provide detailed measurement information for all their sizes, but they also allow you to provide your own measurements, and they'll make a custom size just for you!  You can also shorten (or lengthen) the hem of a dress, or add/change the sleeves or neckline.  They have some really great designs and interesting prints, too.  They are currently offering a couple of promotions: if you're a new customer, you can get a $25 gift coupon for registering on their website, or they are also offering a "buy two dresses, get the third free" promotion, or "buy two dresses, and get the second one 40% off" deal!  Check out all of their offerings here!

Have a lovely (and hopefully non-rainy) day!

I love Paris in the springtime

I had my own personal photographer this weekend, when I went to visit Steven for the wedding we attended!  I felt special, having someone following me around like a paparazzo, but it was also a strange adjustment (since I'm so used to hauling the tripod into the backyard).  But Steven snapped some pretty pictures of my travel outfit on the night I arrived...

Outfit Details:
Paris Swing Dress: Bernie Dexter (via eBay)
Ida P. Blue Spectator Pumps: B.A.I.T. Footwear
Necklace: ASOS

I just love the print of this dress!  Bernie Dexter makes another style of dress in this same print (which is still available on her site and at ModCloth), but I had actually ordered it before and didn't like the fit on me; it was too big in the bust, oddly, and simply didn't look right.  Bernie ends up doing quite a number of auctions on her eBay store, and I've purchased several items through her that way.  There isn't much in her store there right now, but if you like Bernie Dexter's designs, you should definitely check that out from time to time!  Her stuff is lovely but can be on the pricy side for me, so I love when she lists items!

I arrived on the train in the late afternoon, so Steven and I were able to go out for a nice dinner at one of our favorite places in his town.  They have the most amazing fish dishes I've ever eaten, and both times we've been, the food's been outstanding.  After dinner, we went on a walk and got ice cream from the Haagen Dazs shop(!) in a neighboring town.  They didn't have our favorite flavor (Blueberry Crumble), but it was still delicious.

Have a lovely spring day!

Gilly oh golly / Oh, I love my lolly

Outfit Details:
Polka Dot Shirtdress: Forever 21
Oxfords: DSW (additional colors at Amazon)
Oversized readers: Target
Cardigan: Old Navy (old, similar here)

I really like this dress, but it's kind of on the large side.  It's that thing where if it buttons up comfortably in the bust, it's big everywhere else.  It's such a cute color and style that I kind of don't care, though.

I took these photos a while ago, to use when I knew I'd be traveling.  This isn't my favorite outfit ever, but they can't all be, I suppose.

Hope your day is sweet!
