We got our Christmas tree over the weekend -- our first real one since I was a little girl! Although I'm Jewish, we've always celebrated both Chanukah and Christmas. We've had a fake tree for the past several years, but we decided to get a real one this time. Although I would love to go to a Christmas tree farm at some point, we ended up getting ours at a family-owned farm market near our house. I love the smell of pine trees, so it was nice to be surrounded by them!
I have such fond memories of going to this place, especially for Halloween. They have hay rides and build these corn husk teepees every fall. I don't think we've visited too much around Christmastime, but the store is always really cozy, and they have lots of local wares and fun things to look at.
Most importantly, they also have donuts. RED VELVET CAKE ONES. |
This ornament reminded us so much of Pumpkin that we had to get it for our tree! |

You look adorable! The sheep necklace is just too cute! :) We barely use 'real' trees here in the netherlands for our christmas tree, at least from what I know. I can't wait to see yours decorated! :)

Really?! I'm always curious to know holiday traditions from other countries! I'm definitely going to have to take photos of our tree -- my mom has a more rustic sense of style than I do, but it's still really pretty. I can't wait to have my own tree!
DeleteAw you look so cute- I love your outfit for tree picking! I grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Oregon and I haven't had a real tree since moving out at 18. What's up with that??! :)
ReplyDeleteOmg you grew up on a Christmas tree farm!? So cool! I imagine they might be harder to come by where you live now?
DeleteSame here!!! I always celebrated both Chanukah & Christmas! Also, glad to see someone else spelling it right!! haha go us!!
ReplyDeleteHah yay! I really WANT to spell it "Chanukkah," but I know that's not technically correct... but it's all phonetic anyway... ;)
DeleteYou look so cute! I love your sheep necklace! My family has never had a real tree for Christmas. But when I have my own place one day, I am totally getting a real one :). And those red velvet donuts look absolutely delish!

I sort of want to have two trees -- a real, more traditional one, and a fake, pastel & kitschy one! And omg Serli... I had to get one... and it was amazing.
DeleteOhmygahhhhh I am crying over that baby sheep necklace. I just wanna hug it! Hehe. Lovely outfit as always and I do love the photos of the tree lot! Makes me feel like I was there. :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteHehe isn't it sweet?? Sheep are so hugable!
DeleteI love you in the shorter skirt It has a fun, adventure-y vibe to it. Also so jealous of your tree- we have gone out to the mountains the past few years to cut one but no tree this year...
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks! I guess it's a different look for me these days! No tree at all this year?
DeleteYou look so cute here. I love the tights and the texture of the skirt, this looks like a really cozy outfit. And a fresh Christmas tree must be so nice! That scent...
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're right, it was very cozy! The tree itself isn't super fragrant, but we have a great candle that is perfectly scented to emulate it. :)
DeleteThis is a darling outfit! And the kitty ornament is adorable! I love finding stuff that looks like pets too!

Really, is there any better or more festive scent then being surrounded by pine trees and other similar winter greenery? In my books, that's as happy as anything can make my noise and even though we have a fab white faux tree, I always love to visit a local nursery that sells scads of trees each December just to get my annual pine fix. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely post and ensemble, dear gal. That skirt is awesome!
