Ice cream social

Outfit Details:
Sundae print dress: Bernie Dexter
Heart necklace: ASOS (old)
Mel by Melissa wedges: get them here
Petticoat: eBay

This is definitely my second-favorite Bernie Dress (the first is the lilac one I wore in this post).  For any girl who loves a novelty print, I'm pretty certain this dress takes the cake -- or ice cream, as the case may be.  I've worn this dress in the past with my vintage milkshake brooch (by far my luckiest brooch find!), but it felt like overkill without a cardigan.  I ended up wearing this dress, sans petticoat, on Father's Day.  I went to a baseball game with my parents and grandparents, which was a lot of fun.  Since I don't have any sports-themed novelty dresses, I had to opt for a food theme (which is really my favorite aspect of baseball games anyway!).  But in seriousness, I actually do like watching baseball.  I was never an athletic girl growing up, but I do have a competitive side to me, and it's one sport that I can actually follow.  Also, the cotton candy does help.

Tonight's the gig at the Jazz Festival!  It'll be an experience, that's for sure, but it'll hopefully be a fun one.  When I sang with them two years ago, I wasn't expecting to be so physically worn out afterwards; I felt like I had been run over by a truck the next day.  I've been doing musicals for 10+ years, but that was the first time I had ever been that physically-affected by a performance.  Although this won't be as long (that show was 2 sets, and this has only 1), I'm still sort of expecting a similar outcome.  Only time will tell!

Have a great Saturday!

  1. Gorgeous! That print is so cute.

Would you ever film or share your singing? :D

    1. Chrissy - I actually have a YouTube channel, but it hasn't been updated in a looong time! I'll get around to uploading newer videos at some point. :)

  2. So darn adorable! Your new blog design is AMAZING!! Love what you did with it.

    stop by,

  3. This dress is so amazing! I think it was the perfect choice to wear to a baseball game! I am sure you were the best dressed fan in this fabulous printed dress! I hope you have an amazing time at the jazz festival!

  4. Oh, everything in this outfit all works out as fitting so perfectly together- the petticoat peeking out so nicely, the red shoes with their red bows, and the heart necklace that matches the red so well.

Baseball is fun to watch; what a good activity for Father's day too.

  5. The jazz festival sounds fun! I hope your gig goes well!
Also this dress is so perfect. Novelty prints forever! I can't get over how cute the ice cream print is. You look wonderful!

  6. This dress is just about the cutest, can't pass up an ice-cream dress! Good luck singing at the festival, hopefully you feel better since you're singing one set instead of two.

  7. Eeep! Adore the dress! The ice cream sundaes are just too sweet, but so perfect. ; ) Good luck with your performance ~ should I say 'break a leg'? Or is that superstition not around anymore? :P Hope you have fun anyway Sammi! ♡

  8. This outfit is perfection! I've never been athletic either, but baseball has been the only sport to hold my attention as well. Cute look for a fun outing c:
