Herbacious

Outfit Details:
Floral button-down: wholesale (can't remember website)
Pinafore: ASOS (out of stock, similar here)
Key: from our house; necklace chain: old
Gold flats: Marshall's
Daisy ring: Mom's

This shirt was $10 on a wholesale website, and I feel really badly because I can't figure out what the website was.  Normally, I'd just look back in my e-mail history, but I don't think there was even a confirmation e-mail sent from the site (only a PayPal receipt, and it's not linked to the site).  Even though the print is really pretty, I wouldn't even recommend buying it, anyway (though the sizing was accurate, which isn't always the case); the buttons they use on the blouse are ridiculously pointy and sharp studded ones, and they HURT!  I'm going to leave the ones on the sleeves buttoned forever, because I don't want to go through the pain of it again!  So once again, you get what you pay for.

I've worn this pinafore once before on my blog, but it was a while ago, and I figured it was time to wear it again.  It's not my favorite pinafore I own, but I do love light wash denim!

I know the print of the shirt is more floral than herbal, but for some reason, it made me think of herbs.  Have you ever thought about having to describe the taste of a specific herb to someone?  Like if someone had never tasted parsley or cilantro before?  It's really difficult to even think about!  All I can think of are words like "fresh" or "sharp," which don't really say anything at all.  It'd be really strange not to have that point of reference, I think.  Late night ramblings.

Have a great Wednesday!

  1. I think that shirt is so pretty and unique. It wouldn't be hard to find different buttons and sew them on either...

Love the uniqueness of styling it with a pinafore too.

  2. This pinafore is so lovely, I love a good chambray dress and this makes it perfectly unique. It looks great with the floral print button up underneath!

  4. Adorable look Sammi. You do have the cutest pinafores! And that's the deal about wholesale but the print on that shirt is cute nonetheless. <3

  5. Sites with inaccurate sizing SUCK! Especially when like, they're all measured from the same size chart even though they are clearly different brands. It's one reason I tend to not buy skirts from Modcloth anymore... they don't do around the waist, just the length of the skirt, and that don't help nothin'! (/end rant)

Sigh. But gosh, this PINAFORE, Sammi! This is such a cute outfit. I love your shirt, and I can't tell the sizing is off on you, and you just look so lovely in your natural habitat.

  7. I love this so much! This is a beautiful pairing. <3 The chambray and florals are just perfect. The blouse with its gold tipped lapels is my favorite piece!

  8. That top is so pretty! It's too bad about the buttons, though! :/ I'm always worried about studs on things...even blunted ones. If there's any way for me to injure myself on them, I'm sure I'll find it, haha! Maybe you could replace the buttons, though, and get rid of the problem for the most part.
