I mentioned before that I'm making more of an attempt to use pieces already in my wardrobe for posts here. In addition to styling familiar pieces in new ways, I've also come across a few items that never really seemed "blog-worthy" enough to show off. Which seems silly, I realize... but I feel like there are some garments I wear a lot that just don't seem
special enough to blog. I've had this Kohl's lemon print dress for about a year, but have never really worn it before. For some reason, it caused a huge stir on the internet and it seemed like everyone was on the hunt for it. It's definitely shorter than the dresses and skirts I normally wear these days, but because it's been unseasonably warm these past couple of weeks, I decided to pull it out from the depths of my closet and give it a spin.
In other news, the
Fringe Festival starts up this week here in Rochester. We were supposed to be doing an encore presentation of a play I was in last January, but because my best friend/our director is still in the hospital after his kidney transplant, we decided it was best to pull out of the festival. It's disappointing that we aren't getting to do the show, but we were all in agreement that if it wouldn't be representative of what the show deserves, it was better not to go through the stress of attempting to put it together. Although it's a bummer, I'm a little relieved that I won't be spending this next week in intensive rehearsals – plus, now I can actually enjoy myself and see a bunch of shows! We already have tickets to see Pandora Boxx's show (she's a Rochester native and I'd actually seen her in stuff here prior to
Drag Race), but there are lots of other things I want to see. Best of all, my apartment is literally steps away from the Fringe main hub, so I'm right near all of the action!
