Sugarhill Boutique consistently has some of my favorite prints. Their prints are typically both whimsical and delicate, and they lend themselves well to lots of different types of styling. This dress was on my ModCloth wish list for a while before I found a coupon code, and since I had some store credit, I actually ended up paying less than $20 for it. I ended up really liking the square neckline, and the print is even more charming in person.
This print reminded me of the movie Brave, which I recently watched with my mom for the first time and absolutely loved. My mom and I have an incredibly close relationship, so the mother-daughter storyline had me bawling at the end. In addition, dialects are one of my areas of expertise (I feel like a tool putting it that way, but I'm not sure how else to phrase it), and Scottish is one of my favorites to do. I will also be forever wishing I could be a redhead. I can't really pull it off with my coloring, I don't think, so I'll just have to live vicariously through those who can.
Outfit Details:
I love Brave! I really need to watch it with my mom since we are really close and she is a red head (and loves Scottish things). Brave truly is one of my favorite Disney movies and just isn't given enough credit.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, it's adorable. I love the way you styled it.
Gorgeous outfit! I know what you mean saying that it reminds you of Brave, it definitely does for me too. Brave is one of my favourite recent Disney releases - I love the music especially.

I remember oogling over that dress on ModCloth! It looks lovely on you :) And Brave is such a great movie. I watched it with my mom when I got the BluRay a couple Christmases ago, but the concept kind of flew over her head (she was like, "Oh, she didn't end up with anyone?") /facepalm

Soooo cute! The moment I saw this print (here today) I started singing that childhood classic "Teddy Bear's Picnic" in my head. It really would be the ideal dress for a picnic of any kind, especially one in the woods! :)

That necklace is perfect for the outfit because it does seem like something out of a fairytale! How charming! The print made me think of Jane Austen and regency era tales too- maybe the neckline was part of that?- but whatever it is, it just looks enchanting on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm just dying over this print here Sammi! I totally get the Brave vibe too :). And that necklace really is the perfect compliment. Have a loverly weekend lady!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest print! I was trying to think what it reminded me of, until you mentioned Brave. It's so perfect with the necklace, too!
