Think happy thoughts

Pinup Girl Clothing dress

This is probably my favorite dress from Pinup Girl Clothing.  The shade of pink is lovely (it matches these BAIT spectators perfectly!), and who wouldn't love a print that's based on Peter Pan?  Best of all, I snagged a Hell Bunny pink petticoat at ModCloth for a steal, and the length of it is ideal for this dress.  I took these photos a couple of weeks ago, so there was no need for a sweater, but I do love styling this dress with a cardigan.  Oh, and I found this necklace from years ago in my jewelry box; it's pink pixie dust!  I couldn't not wear it with this outfit!

This past week has been rather difficult.  My best friend is still in the hospital, and not knowing exactly what's been going on is scary (though his mom has been writing online entries to update all of us on his progress, which is great).  In addition, I didn't pass my road test, which was surprising and upsetting.  I know a lot of people don't pass their test on the first try, but even my instructor was sort of taken aback by it, and I had gotten to the point where I was feeling really good about my driving... and now I feel sort of disheartened.  I think I was just nervous, mostly.  Is it weird that I feel like visualizing things has the opposite effect for me?  Whenever I visualize getting something I want (whether it be a job, a role in a show, etc.), I end up psyching myself out.  I typically perform much better when I don't care too much about it -- and it's also very hard for me not to care about what I do.  And now I have to figure out how I will get to work (and otherwise get around) while my parents are away.  I know I'll figure something out, but it's just adding more anxiety to a situation that's already stressful.

I hope your best friend will be okay!! That's good that his mom is writing updates.
And I'm sure you will pass your test the next time! I also failed the first time, and was very disappointed.

  4. I am the worst for getting so nervous I mess things up - I know our driving tests are different, but if it helps I passed the UK one on my 5th attempt :S you'll get there! I actually ended up trying hypnotism before the test I passed - which I did pretty much perfectly... Anyway, also to say I love how you accessorise your outfits, that necklace is perfect :)

  6. You have such a keen eye for prints. It blows my mind! And don't worry about the test, you will more than likely pass the second time. I don't know many ladies that passed the first time. I totally believe the nerves psych you out. I failed my first time too and I was distraught and wasn't sure I was going to try again. But once you do pass, you'll feel like a million dollars. Promise. Wish I was closer so I could take your places :)

  8. Oh what a cute dress! The print reminds me of One Piece for obvious reasons. :)

    1. Thanks, Kathy! I actually wasn't familiar with One Piece (I'm not up to date on manga!), but I looked it up and I can totally see why you'd say that!

  9. I'm sorry things have been difficult lately :(. Don't get discouraged about your driving test, sometimes it takes more than one try to pass. It happens to so many people! And at least you look insanely cute in this outfit. I want this dress so badly, I may just fly out to NY to borrow it and live in the rest of your closet forever ♥

  13. This is one of my favorite prints from PUG too! It's just so much fun!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend and your test! I just BARELY passed mine so don't fret too much, but still I understand the anger and irritation you must be feeling. I have my fingers crossed for you for next time and sending well wishes your way!
