I'm usually really subpar at remixing the pieces in my closet. I have so many statement dresses -- and so few neutral separates -- that it makes it difficult for me to wear things in several different ways. But I do love remixing a romper with a skirt! This romper is really cute and retro, and I can finally wear it (I bought it in a size bigger than I normally would have and then had it altered), but the length of the shorts is a little long (and unflattering) on me. But with this red skater skirt worn over it, the problem was solved! I also decided to use the waist tie from the romper as a little belt with a bow on the skirt to tie (hah!) it all together.
This outfit is very patriotic-looking. But since this week has been the first stretch of really hot summer days that we've had, I thought it was only fitting that I don a truly summery ensemble.
Have a great Thursday, and stay cool!

Dang girl! You always get at it 100%! Love this look on you. And I saw recently that I can "shop" your wardrobe. This...this may be a problem. Not for me. But my bank account!

I think a skirt with a romper is such a creative remix!
ReplyDeleteThat's absolutely adorable, very creative! I have the same problem with having too many dresses, and then all I feel like I can ever do to change them up is wear them with a different cardigan. I'm trying to incorporate more separates though!

Absolutely beautiful! I love the red and your necklace!
ReplyDeletehaha, I kind of know what you mean with statement dresses like yours being hard to style in more than one way--they totally are unless it is winter and you add some tights and perhaps a jacket. But GOSH this dress is adorable, Sammi! I love that checkered pattern. You look picnic ready!
ReplyDeleteoh i love this, you look so cute! anything gingham is always a winner in my book, and i love that you've worn a playsuit with a skirt, i never really wear my clothes in any way other than how they were intended (i.e. a dress as a dress, skirt as a skirt) but maybe i should branch out a little cause you've made a great little combination here!
