She's a wildflower

Outfit Details:
Floral dress: Forever 21
Floral crown: ASOS
Flats: yeswalker
Daisy ring: Mom's

After seeing how the beautiful Jessi from Haircut and General Attitude wore her lovely floral crown for her birthday, I was inspired to finally try out one of my larger ones.  I usually gravitate toward my more subtle ones, but I have a couple of statement garlands that I've been itching to wear -- but I couldn't manage to muster up the courage to 'til now!

I'm not sure whether I'm quite ready to wear it out in public yet, though.  I feel like it has to be for a specific kind of place or event.  Something special.  I think my smaller crowns are more for the everyday use.  Or maybe I'm just chicken!

I need to really figure out how to make my own (Jenny Highsmith has a great DIY flower crown tutorial that I want to try!).  Some of the ones on Etsy are so gorgeous, and even though I'd love to be able to support small businesses, I can't really afford to shell out $40 for something I could easily figure out how to make (and customize!) myself.

Have a beautiful Monday!

  3. Hi Sammi, I hopped over from Ali's blog. You look all decked out for summer and I love your little daisy ring. The floral crown you have there is a little big and would seem more appropriate for occasions. I would have worn such larger ones for fun and to snap some pictures for my blog too. I don't think you are being a chicken. Hehehe... At least you had fun with this post right? I think those small dainty romantic ones are so lovely but yes, they are so expensive.

  12. Aw, I love this on you! How lovely. I actually remember Daniel picking up that dress at Forever21 for me to try on- and I thought it was really pretty but I decided to put it back because I was looking for separates (I have sooo many dresses, haha!!). It really looks so nice on you though- I can relate to not wanting to wear large floral crowns out in public- I have a large one and I've worn it a few times-the place I felt most confident wearing it was Philly. The one time I wore it at work I got a few funny looks, and I wasn't quite sure if I liked the look with my outfit that day either so I think I ended up putting my hair in a ponytail. It just needs to be the right time to wear it so you feel comfortable- but as long as you feel confident you can totally pull it off!! :)

hehe, but yes, I adore your flower crown so so much! It matches your pretty flower dress and overall flower fairy-esque outfit so very well. :D
