A sea of snow

dear creatures sweater

Happy Monday!  I actually had some semblance of a weekend, which was very nice indeed.  I even managed to take some photos over the last few days (it's warmed up a bit from -4 degrees, luckily), and my days off were well-timed, since I have a few new pieces -- and I'd run out of my stockpile of outfit photos!  Of course, I still waited 'til the last minute to finish this post... but at least I'd planned ahead in other ways.

I feel as if I rummaged through my entire closet in order to find something with which I could wear this sweater.  I had several ideas in mind, but none of them panned out the way I imagined they would.  I almost opted to wear it with jeans, but I wanted a dressier option.  I finally remembered this strapless dress from ModCloth, and though my original thought was to wear it with a white skirt, I realized that this would layer quite nicely.  This dress doesn't get nearly enough wear, so it was nice to bring it out again for a spin.

Creature feature

Outfit Details:
Creature of Delight Dress: ModCloth
Porcupine Necklace: Forever 21
Heels: TJ Maxx

The print of this dress is really adorable.  There are all different kinds of animals (a bunch of birds, and squirrels, and rabbits, and I think some other things), and I love that they all look hand drawn!  The color is really pretty too, and it's kind of nice that the neckline is on the modest side (which can be difficult on me, honestly).  I tried to carry the creature theme into my necklace, which is probably the most abstract "porcupine" I've ever seen, but it's cute (and pink), so I had to get it!

Also, any dress with pockets is a-okay in my book.

Have a great Saturday!
