What's New, Pussycat?

lindy bop dress

I had originally hoped this Lindy Bop dress would arrive in time for my birthday at the end of last month, but I procrastinated too long -- but it's not as if I can't come up with an occasion to wear a pretty dress!  I've had this Lazy Oaf jacket for quite some time, but had yet to wear it (I'm not sure why!).  It just seemed to pair really well with this dress (the pink thread is a precise match!), and the whole outfit is sort of Pink Ladies-inspired.  Oh, and I had to put my cat lady brooch on the lapel!

I took these photos before the cold weather really hit.  It's been SO cold this whole weekend, and we've been getting snow.  I just want to stay snuggled inside under layers and layers of blankets!  I'm getting excited for the holidays, actually.  I'm trying to get my holiday shopping done early.  I do the bulk of my shopping online anyway, and lots of retailers are offering a lot of discounts earlier than Black Friday (I assume because Thanksgiving is so late this year).  I think I may actually send out Christmas cards this year, too!

  1. I've never bought Lindy Bop brand before, but I love a few of the brand's dresses that I've seen on blogs & Instagram. I had never seen this one before, though. I LOVE it on you! It's so cute, and looks great on you.
Ugh it's also a lot colder here now than it was very recently. And we got just a little bit of snow the other night. So not ready for it!!

    1. Bristol, you should definitely try their dresses! You'd look great in them, and they come in such fun colors! And it snowed here too the other night... I'm still in denial!

  4. Another success for Lindy Bop - they can't do much wrong in my opinion these days! And the jacket is a perfect match, of course. CC x

  5. Gah! I hate how cold it is getting too! I mean, I love the winter, but it's making it really challenging to keep my dresses alive! Haha also though, it's a challenge to get good photos! In the morning its COLD but then by the time I get home from work, the sun has set! ahhhhh! Stressful time for a fashion blogger! ;)

    1. SO true -- the time change has me thrown for a loop! These days, I'm not about to leave the warmth of my bed any earlier than I have to in the mornings, and since I get out of work after it's dark now, that just leaves the rare day off for photos. I'll have to figure out some sort of rhythm though, since I've kind of just been lucky so far! I'm dreading the heaps of snow we'll have in a couple of months... it's always a struggle to figure out footwear!!

  6. Such a pretty dress! I've never bought a Lindy Bop dresss before. How do they run as far as sizing goes? I've found it can be tricky when converting uk to us sizes. Any observations with the Lindy Bop fit?

    1. Good question! I am typically a size US 8, which almost always converts to a UK 12. Normally, your UK size equivalent is 2 sizes above your US size (skipping the odd numbers). However, I've found that several UK-based retro reproduction brands (like Hell Bunny and Collectif) run big. I've found the same to be true for many of Lindy Bop's dresses. Lindy Bop usually has a very detailed size chart for each garment they carry, but I would recommend NOT sizing up with their dresses. If you think you're between sizes, I'd recommend going with the smaller size. I own 4 different styles they make now, and ordering my normal UK size (12) leaves plenty of room -- even when their size chart has left me wondering whether or not I should go up a size. I hope this helps!!

  9. I am obsessed with this dress! I've always wanted a Lindy Bop Audrey dress but I'm just so unaware of their sizing. This one is perfect on you. I love it when you wear pink ♥
